Personal Agent Protocol (Poppy)
Personal Agent Protocol (“Poppy”) is an open protocol, announced by Sierra and Meta on 6 October 2026, for how a personal agent acting for one person works with a company on that person’s behalf. A company publishes /.well-known/poppy.json declaring how agents can start a session, which sign-in methods and scopes it offers, and which channels it exposes — its website, its APIs (OpenAPI or MCP), or a company agent. Sessions are built on OAuth, start signed out under a stable per-company user ID that carries no personal information, and can be signed in with read or write access the person chooses. Draft 0.1, Apache 2.0.
Also known as Poppy, PAP, Personal Agent Protocol Specification.
