Privacy Policy

Effective July 21, 2026

This policy describes what information APIs.io — operated by API Evangelist LLC (“we”, “us”) — collects across apis.io, its subdomains, and related APIs and services, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell personal information, and everything we do collect exists to run the services you asked for.

What we collect

Usage analytics. Like most websites we collect aggregate traffic data — pages visited, referrers, approximate geography, browser and device type — using standard web analytics and the request logs of our hosting infrastructure. We use this to understand what content is useful and to keep the services running well.

Search queries. Searches run against the catalog are logged. We use them to improve search and to understand demand across the API economy, and we publish aggregate, anonymized search terms as part of our public research — never tied to who searched.

Information you give us. If you contact us we receive whatever you send. If you sign up for a paid plan or API access we collect the identifiers needed to operate it, such as your email address and the API keys issued to you.

Purchases. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we receive confirmation of the purchase and basic details needed to deliver it, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.

About the catalog itself

The APIs.io catalog profiles companies and their public API operations, compiled from public sources. Catalog entries describe organizations, not private individuals. Where a public professional identity appears in the catalog — a maintainer contact on a published APIs.json file, for example — it came from information the provider published. If something about your organization’s listing is wrong, or you want a correction, contact us or open an issue on the profile’s repository.

What we do with it

We use the information above to deliver the services you request, to meter and secure API access, to fulfill purchases, and to understand aggregate usage and demand. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers below, or where the law requires it.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of third-party services to operate: cloud hosting and content delivery, code hosting, payment processing, and web analytics. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function, and each operates under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies for analytics and, where applicable, to keep you signed in to developer services. You can block cookies in your browser; the catalog works fine without them.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected — an active plan, an open account, records we are required to keep. Aggregate analytics and search-demand data that do not identify you may be retained longer.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email info@apievangelist.com and we will respond promptly. Deleting account information may end services that depend on it.

Children

Our services are aimed at professionals and are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
