Terms of Service

Effective July 21, 2026

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of APIs.io — the website, catalog, search API, MCP server, datasets, and related services (together, the “services”) operated by API Evangelist LLC (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using the services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

The services

APIs.io is a search engine and catalog for the API economy — profiling API providers, their APIs, and the machine-readable artifacts they publish, along with ratings, rankings, and analysis built on top. Some services are free; others — such as PRO API plans with higher limits and deeper data — require payment. We may add, change, or retire services at any time.

The catalog and your listing

The catalog is compiled from public sources — provider websites, developer portals, repositories, and published artifacts — and is maintained as an editorial research project. We work to keep it accurate, but we do not guarantee that any listing is complete or current. If we have profiled your company and something is wrong or out of date, we want to fix it: every provider profile links to the repository it is built from, where you can open an issue or submit a pull request, or you can email us directly.

Ratings

Kin Score — the API Evangelist rating system — and its agent-readiness scores shown across the catalog are editorial opinions computed from published, verifiable artifacts using an open rubric. There is no paid placement — a provider cannot buy a better number, and the path to improving a score is publishing better artifacts. Ratings are provided for information purposes and are not professional, financial, or legal advice.

APIs, data, and machine-readable services

Where we provide APIs, feeds, MCP servers, or bulk exports, you agree to use them within published rate limits and plan tiers, to not misrepresent your identity or the origin of requests, and to not use them to build a service that substantially replicates APIs.io. API keys are yours to safeguard; activity under your keys is your responsibility.

Purchases

Paid plans are billed through our payment providers at the prices shown at the time of purchase. If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact us and we will make it right.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the services to break the law, to attempt unauthorized access to our systems or data, to disrupt the operation of the services, or to harvest information about other users.

Third-party content

The catalog references third-party names, logos, trademarks, documentation, and specifications, which belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in the catalog does not imply endorsement in either direction, and links to third-party sites are provided for reference — we are not responsible for their content.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, API Evangelist LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the services, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the services after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
