Bidgely

Bidgely is a Mountain View, California energy analytics company that builds AI software for electric and gas utilities. Its flagship platform, UtilityAI, applies patented non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) and disaggregation techniques to smart meter interval data to infer appliance-level energy usage — air conditioning, heat pumps, electric vehicles, pool pumps, water heaters and more — from the whole-home meter signal alone, without surveys, sub-meters, or smart plugs. The platform layers GenAI natural-language interfaces and Agentic AI workflows on top of disaggregation to support utility programs across demand-side management, customer engagement and high-bill alerts, load flexibility and time-of-use, electrification (EV and heat pump targeting), grid resiliency and DER planning, affordability and income-qualified outreach, gas efficiency, small and mid-sized business programs, and energy theft detection. Bidgely is sold to utilities as SaaS or deployable into customer AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, and Oracle environments, and exposes embeddable customer-facing widgets to utility digital channels. Bidgely has been deployed by more than 50 utilities across four continents — including FortisBC, Arizona Public Service, PacifiCorp, Avista, NV Energy, Nova Scotia Power, and SoCalGas — covering tens of millions of meters. Bidgely operates an internal REST API surface across regional endpoints (naapi.bidgely.com, api.eu.bidgely.com) for its own pilot deployments and embeddable widgets, but does not currently publish a public developer portal, OpenAPI specification, or self-service API key program; integration is conducted under utility contracts.

Bidgely is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Energy, Utilities, Smart Meters, Energy Disaggregation, and Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring.

Bidgely’s developer surface includes product news, GitHub presence, YouTube channel, and 27 more developer resources.

Regulatory Posture applies to this provider. Its tags matched the Energy & Utilities regime, so Regulatory Posture carries 15 points of the composite. If this regime is wrong for your business, say so on your provider repo — the applicability map is public and we will correct it.
Create-or-Update Ergonomics could not be measured. We hold no machine-readable contract for this provider to read, so there is nothing to measure a write surface against. Excluded rather than scored zero: never-measured and measured-empty are different facts. Publishing an OpenAPI is what makes this facet — and several others — scorable at all.
The six quality facets above are damped to 85 points between them, because the conditional facet above carries the other 15. That is why each facet's contribution is shown against a damped maximum: raising a quality facet moves the composite by 85% of its nominal weight, not 100%. The full arithmetic is at apis.io/rating/.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/bidgely: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
