University of Groningen
The University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, RUG/UG) is a public research university in Groningen, Netherlands, founded in 1614 and ranked #75 in the QS World University Rankings 2025. Its public, machine-readable developer/API footprint is centered on research-output and research-data infrastructure: an OAI-PMH metadata-harvesting endpoint over its Pure CRIS research portal (OpenAIRE CERIF profile), the Elsevier Pure REST web-services API (live but API-key gated), and the shared DataverseNL data repository (Dataverse Native REST API) that serves as the UG default repository for research data and software. The University does not operate a single unified, self-service public developer portal; most institutional, SIS, timetable, and identity APIs are internal or gated. The University also maintains an official GitHub organization publishing open-source research-data and education tools.
