Spectrum Medical

Spectrum Medical is a privately held medical technology company, co-founded by Steve Turner and Mark Drain, with corporate headquarters in Cheltenham, England, a U.S. headquarters in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and a European headquarters in Mirandola, Italy. It entered the global medical device market in 2005 with its non-invasive System M diagnostic technology and today builds two connected product families: Quantum Perfusion Technologies (workstations, centrifugal and roller pumps, oxygenators, heater-coolers, sensor modules and single-use sterile technologies for cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO and other extracorporeal therapies) and Quantum Informatics (the VIPER clinical interfacing EMR, the VISION server and Perfusion Information Management System). Its software surface is a customer-deployed, on-premise stack: the VISION server passes case data to the hospital EHR over HL7 v2 interfaces through a bundled Mirth Connect interface engine, and third-party device connectivity is delivered through optional device-driver software rather than a public web API. Spectrum Medical is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified and its VIPER Clinical Information Solution 3.0 earned ONC-HIT 2014 Edition Modular Certification via the Drummond Group. Systems are in use in over 60 countries.

scored 2026-09-02 · rubric v0.18.0
Regulatory Posture applies to this provider. Its tags matched the Health regime, so Regulatory Posture carries 15 points of the composite. If this regime is wrong for your business, say so on your provider repo — the applicability map is public and we will correct it.
The six quality facets above are damped to 85 points between them, because the conditional facet above carries the other 15. That is why each facet's contribution is shown against a damped maximum: raising a quality facet moves the composite by 85% of its nominal weight, not 100%. The full arithmetic is at apis.io/rating/.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/spectrum-medical: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
