Inmarsat is a British satellite communications operator founded in 1979, originally as the International Maritime Satellite Organization, providing voice, data, broadband, and IoT services over a global L-band, Ka-band, and multi-band fleet of geostationary satellites. In May 2023 Viasat completed its acquisition of Inmarsat, and the combined company now operates Inmarsat's GX (Global Xpress), BGAN, IsatData Pro (IDP), and Fleet Xpress services alongside Viasat's ViaSat-3 constellation as a unified multi-orbit network.
