Oklo
Oklo Inc. is a Santa Clara, California advanced fission company designing and deploying small modular reactors under the Aurora powerhouse brand. The Aurora is a liquid-metal (sodium) cooled, metal-fueled fast reactor derived from the Experimental Breeder Reactor-II (EBR-II) lineage, engineered as a "walk-away safe" passively cooled system that is self-stabilizing and self-controlling under loss-of-coolant and loss-of-shutdown conditions. Oklo's reactors are intended to run on recycled high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) fuel, including legacy EBR-II material, with the company building out three vertically integrated fast-reactor businesses: clean power generation, advanced nuclear fuel fabrication and recycling, and medical radioisotope production. The first commercial Aurora is targeted for operation at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in late 2027 to early 2028, supported by selection into the DOE Reactor Pilot Program and Fuel Line Pilot Projects, and the company has completed an NRC Phase 1 pre-application assessment. Oklo went public in May 2024 via merger with AltC Acquisition Corp (a SPAC co-founded by Sam Altman, who serves as chairman) and trades on the NYSE under ticker OKLO. Oklo's commercial posture is utility-scale and industrial — selling power, fuel cycle services, and isotopes to data center operators, defense customers, and industrial offtakers — and the company exposes no public developer API, SDK, or open source software.
Oklo is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Energy, Nuclear, Advanced Fission, Small Modular Reactor, and Fast Reactor.
