Density

Density builds radar-based occupancy sensors and a workplace analytics platform that measures how people use physical space without cameras or personally identifiable information. Its v3 Public API (api.density.io) exposes real-time occupancy and presence, historical metrics (occupancy, utilization, time used, sessions, raw sessions), spaces / doorways / sensors / labels resources, sensor and space health, wayfinding display tokens, and WebSocket streams for live floor presence and space occupancy. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 client-credentials (Auth0-backed) or static Bearer API tokens. Originally surfaced as a portfolio company of kleiner-perkins and enriched from Density's public developer surface.

Density publishes 1 API on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Enterprise, Occupancy Sensors, Workplace Analytics, and Real-Time.

The Density catalog on APIs.io includes 1 event-driven AsyncAPI specification.

Density’s developer surface includes documentation, API reference, getting-started guide, support, signup flow, pricing, authentication, and 19 more developer resources.

scored 2026-09-19 · rubric v0.22.0
Create-or-Update Ergonomics could not be measured. We hold no machine-readable contract for this provider to read, so there is nothing to measure a write surface against. Excluded rather than scored zero: never-measured and measured-empty are different facts. Publishing an OpenAPI is what makes this facet — and several others — scorable at all.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/density: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
