Confer Technologies
Confer Technologies, Inc. was an enterprise endpoint security company that marketed what it called the "Converged Endpoint" — a single lightweight sensor combining attack prevention, detection, and incident response across endpoints, servers, cloud workloads, and mobile devices. The product gathered endpoint telemetry across the enterprise and applied data science to analyze attacker behavior and adapt automatically, positioned as an EDR and next-generation antivirus alternative for organizations without large security teams. Confer was venture-backed (Matrix Partners, Foundation Capital) and raised roughly $17M before being acquired by Carbon Black in 2016. Its site at confer.net began permanently redirecting to carbonblack.com by mid-2016 and the domain no longer resolves to a host. Carbon Black was subsequently acquired by VMware (2019) and then by Broadcom (2023). Confer never published a public developer portal, API documentation, or machine-readable API artifacts; this profile is retained as a historical record of an acquired company and has no live API surface to enrich.
