Assist

Assist (assi.st) was a San Francisco conversational-commerce platform founded in 2015 by Shane Mac, Giovanni Vatieri, and Geek Squad founder Robert Stephens, and backed by Slow Ventures. Assist built branded chatbot and voice assistant experiences that let consumers order, book, and pay inside messaging channels, running deployments for brands including Fandango, 1-800-Flowers, and Hyatt across Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Twitter, Apple Business Chat, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, where it shipped one of the first Google Actions at launch in 2016. Conversocial acquired Assist in March 2019 and Shane Mac became Conversocial's Chief Automation Officer. The assi.st domain is now parked with no web host, and Assist never published a public developer portal, API documentation, or machine-readable API specification, so there is no API surface to catalog.

Assist is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Conversational Commerce, Chatbots, Messaging, and Customer Experience.

Assist’s developer surface includes engineering blog and 2 more developer resources.

Create-or-Update Ergonomics could not be measured. We hold no machine-readable contract for this provider to read, so there is nothing to measure a write surface against. Excluded rather than scored zero: never-measured and measured-empty are different facts. Publishing an OpenAPI is what makes this facet — and several others — scorable at all.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/assi: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
