Starry

Starry, Inc. is a Boston-founded (2014) internet service provider that delivers fixed wireless broadband to multi-dwelling buildings and homes in five US metropolitan markets — Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Denver and Washington, D.C. — over its own licensed millimeter-wave spectrum and proprietary radio hardware rather than leased last-mile cable or fiber. Consumer plans run from Starry 200 (200 Mbps, $30/mo) to Starry Gigabit (1 Gbps, $45/mo), month-to-month with no data caps, a bundled Wi-Fi router and a three-year price lock, alongside a Starry Connect program for affordable-housing properties and a wholesale/bulk offering for property owners. Starry restructured through Chapter 11 in 2023 and was acquired by Verizon in a deal announced October 2025. It is a consumer/property-facing broadband operator: it runs an authenticated customer account portal and publishes an llms.txt and a substantial open-source GitHub organization, but it operates no public developer program and publishes no machine-readable API contract.

Starry is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Internet Service Provider, Broadband, Fixed Wireless, and Telecommunications.

Starry’s developer surface includes pricing, support, engineering blog, and 9 more developer resources.

Kin Score Kin Score How this is scored →
scored 2026-09-02 · rubric v0.18.0
Regulatory Posture applies to this provider. Its tags matched the Telecommunications regime, so Regulatory Posture carries 15 points of the composite. If this regime is wrong for your business, say so on your provider repo — the applicability map is public and we will correct it.
The six quality facets above are damped to 85 points between them, because the conditional facet above carries the other 15. That is why each facet's contribution is shown against a damped maximum: raising a quality facet moves the composite by 85% of its nominal weight, not 100%. The full arithmetic is at apis.io/rating/.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/starry: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
