KNO

Kno, Inc. was a digital textbook and student learning platform founded in May 2009 in Santa Clara, California by CEO Osman Rashid (co-founder of Chegg) and CTO Babur Habib. Kno began as a dual-screen tablet built for students, abandoned hardware in 2011, and pivoted to eTextbook software delivered across iPad, Android, Windows and the web in partnership with textbook publishers. The company raised roughly $93 million from Andreessen Horowitz, Intel Capital, Goldman Sachs, FLOODGATE, First Round Capital, SV Angel, Advance Publications and GSV Capital before being acquired by Intel in November 2013 for approximately $15 million and rebranded as Intel Education Study, which has itself since been discontinued. As of enrichment the kno.com domain is parked and redirects to a third-party domain brokerage, and the provider exposes no public API, developer portal, documentation, SDK, or other artifact surface to enrich.

KNO is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Education, EdTech, Digital Textbooks, and Ebooks.

Regulatory Posture applies to this provider. Its tags matched the Education & Research regime, so Regulatory Posture carries 15 points of the composite. If this regime is wrong for your business, say so on your provider repo — the applicability map is public and we will correct it.
The six quality facets above are damped to 85 points between them, because the conditional facet above carries the other 15. That is why each facet's contribution is shown against a damped maximum: raising a quality facet moves the composite by 85% of its nominal weight, not 100%. The full arithmetic is at apis.io/rating/.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/kno: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts. Want it done for you? Prioritized profiling — $2,500 →
