Australia & New Zealand holds 431 providers and 2,418 APIs, with a median Kin Score of 19.8 and a median Agent Readiness of 9.4. Regulation marks the sharpest line in that population. The 67 providers tagged for the Consumer Data Right have a median Kin Score of 39.8 and an Agent Readiness of 25.5. The other 364 sit at 14.6 and 3.2.

The observation
Of the 50 providers tagged as banks, 44 expose exactly 19 operations across their API pages, and those 44 have a median Kin Score of 37.3. Inside the CDR group, 24 providers land on the same Agent Readiness of precisely 25.5. Twenty-three are banks, among them Bankwest, Unity Bank, Police Bank and ANZ itself. The twenty-fourth is Powershop. ANZ and Police Bank share one agent score because their records show the same interface.
That works like a floor, lifting dozens of institutions onto a shared, machine-readable surface. It also works like a ceiling, because a required interface does not differentiate anyone. The banks that climb do it with something additional: Westpac’s record adds PayWay and QuickStream REST APIs to the CDR set, and it scores 62.7 against Bankwest’s 35.4.
The region has other strengths. Amber Electric (66.7) and Origin Energy (58.6) sit high in the regulated group, and AEMO publishes 63 APIs. The 43 providers tagged New Zealand are thinner, at a median of 20.8.
What is ours to fix
The region description names Xero as part of the accounting-API stack, yet Xero is not among the 431. At 84.2 and 61.3 it would rank first. The page explains why: membership comes from a tag, a name pattern or a stated headquarters, and Xero’s record carries no regional tag. The rule is honest, but the sentence above the table promises a company the table does not hold. MYOB, named in the same sentence, is a member at 24.1.
We also found base URLs that need checking. Six members have an API page recording the placeholder host mtls.dh.example.com, including Bank of Queensland, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, and Judo Bank. Unity Bank’s API pages point at a GC Mutual Bank host.
Takeaway
If you are integrating Australian bank data, the CDR gives you one shape across dozens of institutions, which is rare and valuable. If you run one of those banks, the regulation has already taken you to about 25.5, and anything beyond it needs a contract of your own.
