Ritual

Ritual is a Toronto-based restaurant order-ahead and "social ordering" platform (ritual.co, founded 2014) that lets consumers pre-order, pay, and skip the line at local restaurants and coffee shops, and lets colleagues pile onto a shared order for group pickup. For restaurants it offers Ritual ONE (online ordering, company/building perk programs, and Ritual for Coffee). Ritual does NOT publish a public or self-serve developer API - there is no developer portal, API reference, SDKs, or authentication documentation. Restaurant order injection into point-of-sale systems is handled through partner/POS integrations (documented on partnersupport.ritual.co) and third-party ordering aggregators such as Deliverect, not through a Ritual-published API. Operating status - Ritual continues to operate the consumer app and online-ordering platform, but the business is distressed and in transition - revenue fell from ~US$11M (2021) to ~US$3.9M (H1 2024) with repeated layoffs, and in January 2025 Shopify "acqui-hired" the co-founders (CEO Ray Reddy became Shopify's VP of Retail/POS) and much of the R&D team while a separate process to sell the standalone Ritual business was underway. This entry is a documentation stub with no APIs modeled because none are publicly documented.

Ritual is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Restaurant, Order Ahead, Online Ordering, Food Ordering, and Social Ordering.

Regulatory Posture applies to this provider. Its tags matched the Payments regime, so Regulatory Posture carries 15 points of the composite. If this regime is wrong for your business, say so on your provider repo — the applicability map is public and we will correct it.
The six quality facets above are damped to 85 points between them, because the conditional facet above carries the other 15. That is why each facet's contribution is shown against a damped maximum: raising a quality facet moves the composite by 85% of its nominal weight, not 100%. The full arithmetic is at apis.io/rating/.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/.
