Ramp vs Brex: the score and agent readiness disagree

Ramp outscores Brex 47.5 to 21.0, but Brex is the more agent-ready of the two. This pair shows why we report both.

Agent readiness 53 · agent-ready

Ramp scores 47.5 (developing) and Brex 21.0 (emerging), a 26-point gap. Ramp leads on contract quality (67.8 against 38.6), contract governance (27.3 against 11.4), operational transparency (28.9 against 10.5) and especially access clarity (60.5 against 7.9). It publishes Arazzo workflows, JSON Schema, JSON Structure, JSON-LD, examples and OAuth scopes that Brex does not.

Agent readiness runs the other way: Brex 53.0, Ramp 40.7. Agent readiness measures different things than the composite, such as the auth model, idempotency, error semantics and how safely an agent can act. Brex scores well on those even though its broader developer program is thin. Brex also leads on developer ergonomics (11.9 against 3.6), though both score low there.

This is why the catalog never folds agent readiness into the Kin Score. A buyer choosing a corporate-card API for an agent workflow and one choosing for a developer team could reasonably pick different winners here.

What it costs to get in

Each provider's economics as the tool returns them. Grade A is quoted on the provider's own pricing page, B is arithmetic on quotes, C a stated prior. Entry cost is the cheapest published paid tier — a floor on getting in, not the price of the API alone. Grades: A quoted on the provider's page, B arithmetic on quotes, C a stated prior.
