Bebop

Bebop (bebop.co) was a stealth-mode enterprise software startup founded by Diane Greene, co-founder and former CEO of VMware, building a development platform intended to make it easier to build and maintain enterprise applications. The company never shipped a public product, developer portal, or API, and was acquired by Google on November 19, 2015 for approximately $380 million, at which point Diane Greene was named head of Google's newly consolidated enterprise cloud business (Google for Work, Cloud Platform, and Google Apps). The acquired technology was later folded into Google Hire, which Google shut down in 2019. Bebop is retained in the API Evangelist network as a historical a16z portfolio record; it has no live domain, no public API surface, and no developer artifacts to enrich.

Bebop is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Acquired, Enterprise Software, Application Development, and Cloud.
