u:ai API (Academic AI)

u:ai is the University of Vienna's AI assistant for staff and students, offered with API access for scripted and research use. The API base is https://univie-api.academic-ai.at - an institution-branded subdomain on academic-ai.at, the Academic AI platform run by ACOmarket with Microsoft Osterreich and KPMG on an isolated Azure Secure Landing Zone and shared by 20+ Austrian universities. Access is requested through the ZID Servicedesk, authenticated with a 12-month API secret, capped at 100 requests/minute and EUR 20/month of centrally funded credit. Probed 2026-08-30: returns HTTP 403 with 'Access to this application is only possible from within EU and EFTA' - geo-fenced and live, not dead. DNS resolves to fde-univieai-prod-*.azurefd.net (Azure Front Door). Recorded as a TENANT relationship: Vienna's branding and Vienna's accounts on a consortium platform.
