oEmbed

oEmbed is a simple format allowing a site to display embedded content from another site without parsing its markup — a consumer requests a URL against a provider’s oEmbed endpoint and receives structured JSON describing how to render it. It is the specification that made creator content portable across the web, and one of very few genuinely successful open standards in the publishing stack.

Providers that carry oEmbed 8

These providers' own APIs.json profiles carry oEmbed as a tag — the provider's statement that the standard is part of what it does. APIs.io has not verified the implementation on this page; the de facto profiles on this site are where that measurement exists. Ordered by Kin Score.

Read from the API Evangelist standards directory. Provider links come from the catalog's own identity tags and are rebuilt nightly. If this page is wrong about a standard or a provider, say so.
