Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 requires financial market participants and advisers to disclose how sustainability risks are integrated into investment decisions and to report principal adverse impacts across a defined set of indicators. It is the regime that turned ESG data into a compliance input for asset managers, and it is the demand-side pressure behind much of the corporate emissions data the climate-software market exists to collect.
