Flightaware Rate Limits
FlightAware's published rate limits for AeroAPI and Firehose. This REPLACES the 2026-05-04 scaffold that previously stood here, which asserted invented per-minute quotas and a full X-RateLimit-* header family that AeroAPI does not return. The real posture is the opposite: limits are published as COMMERCIAL TIER ATTRIBUTES measured in result sets, and there is no runtime rate-limit signal at all.
Flightaware Rate Limits is the machine-readable rate-limit profile for FlightAware on the APIs.io network, in the API Commons Rate Limits shape.
It captures 6 rate-limit definitions, across the Personal, Standard, Premium, and all tiers, measuring result_sets_per_minute, result_sets_per_second, result_sets_per_month, and concurrent_connections.
Limit state is signalled in the limit, remaining, reset, and retryAfter response headers, and an exhausted limit returns HTTP undocumented.
The profile also includes 2 backoff/retry policies defined and response codes documented for throttled, quotaExceeded, serviceUnavailable, and note.
Tagged areas include Aviation, Rate Limiting, Quotas, Throttling, and Metering.
