VSS Monitoring

VSS Monitoring was a network packet broker (NPB) vendor founded in 2003, known for its vBroker appliance range and the vMesh architecture that meshed up to 256 packet brokers into a fault-tolerant network-visibility fabric for monitoring and security tools. It was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2012 as part of Tektronix Communications, and passed to NETSCOUT Systems when NETSCOUT acquired Danaher's Communications business (Tektronix Communications, Arbor Networks, parts of Fluke Networks) for roughly USD 2.6 billion, closing in July 2015. VSS Monitoring no longer operates as an independent company or brand; its packet-broker technology is now delivered as a NETSCOUT business unit, and it exposes no independent public developer program, API, SDK, or developer portal. This profile was surfaced as a portfolio-company lead and is retained for network completeness rather than as an active API provider.

VSS Monitoring is profiled on the APIs.io network. Tagged areas include Company, Network Monitoring, Network Packet Broker, Network Visibility, and Network Security.

Create-or-Update Ergonomics could not be measured. We hold no machine-readable contract for this provider to read, so there is nothing to measure a write surface against. Excluded rather than scored zero: never-measured and measured-empty are different facts. Publishing an OpenAPI is what makes this facet — and several others — scorable at all.
Improve this rating by publishing the missing artifacts — every area above can be raised, and the full rubric is at apis.io/rating/. Every facet and dimension name above is a link: it opens that measurement's own page — what it means, the exact checks that feed it, how the whole catalog distributes on it, and the providers at the top of it. This rating is computed from github.com/api-evangelist/vss-monitoring: open an issue to ask a question, or submit a pull request to add artifacts.
