Gupshup prices conversational messaging on a usage basis, per message per channel, on top of the underlying carrier / platform fee. For WhatsApp, the total cost per message is Meta's per-message rate (which varies by category - marketing, utility, authentication, service - and by destination country) plus a Gupshup platform/BSP fee. Following Meta's July 2025 move from per-conversation to per-message billing, WhatsApp is billed per delivered template/message with telescopic (volume-tiered) rates for utility and authentication. SMS and RCS are similarly billed per message. Gupshup accounts are wallet / prepaid-credit based; there is no published flat monthly API subscription for core messaging. Exact per-message rates are not reconciled here and must be verified on Gupshup's pricing pages, as they change frequently and vary by country and category.

WhatsApp Business - Per Message usage

Pay-as-you-go WhatsApp Business messaging billed per message. Total cost = Meta per-message rate (by category and country) + Gupshup platform/BSP fee. Utility and authentication categories follow telescopic volume-tiered rates. Service/session messages within the customer service window and certain utility templates in-window may be free of Meta charges.
