Anu Plans Pricing
ANU is a non-commercial higher-education institution and sells no API access. Everything it operates publicly is free. Corrected 2026-08-19: the previous version of this file described free "library, repository, course, and open-metadata interfaces" — ANU operates no public library API and no public course API, so those were struck. The three plans below reflect only surfaces confirmed by live probe: a free self-serve API key for the ANU Quantum Numbers service, unauthenticated open access to the deprecated legacy RNG endpoint and to OAI-PMH harvesting, and affiliation-gated access to everything else behind Australian Access Federation single sign-on.
Anu Plans Pricing is the machine-readable pricing-plan profile for Australian National University on the APIs.io network, conforming to the API Commons Plans specification.
It defines 3 plans, covering free tiers, with named plans including ANU Quantum Numbers — Free API key, Free / Open — no credential, Affiliation / Credentialed.
Tagged areas include Education, Higher Education, University, and Plans.
Plans
Self-serve registration at quantumnumbers.anu.edu.au issues a free x-api-key for the AQN service. Quota is metered by an AWS API Gateway usage plan whose values ANU does not publish.
Unauthenticated access to the deprecated QRNG@ANU legacy endpoint (hard-throttled to one request per minute, signalled with HTTP 200 and a plain-text body) and to OAI-PMH metadata harvesting from the Open Research repository (no documented limit).
Administrative, learning and research-information systems gated behind Australian Access Federation SAML single sign-on rather than payment — Wattle, the library discovery layer, the DSpace collections that return 401, and the Elsevier Pure research portal. Not purchasable by an unaffiliated developer at any price.
