UK Access Management Federation Identity Provider Entity

The University of Reading's own SAML identity provider entity, registered in the UK Access Management Federation and published in eduGAIN. entityID https://reading.ac.uk/oala/metadata, OrganizationName "The University of Reading", scoped to reading.ac.uk and reading.edu.my (the Malaysia campus). Its metadata is retrievable from the federation's MDQ service and was confirmed live on 2026-09-01 (200, application/samlmetadata+xml, 7,773 bytes), advertising a SAML 2.0 HTTP-Redirect SSO endpoint and a Shibboleth 1.0 AuthnRequest endpoint, both resolving to login.openathens.net — the university's chosen implementation is OpenAthens LA, and no Shibboleth IdP host of its own resolves in DNS. A federation is shared by definition; the entity, the scope and the users behind it are the institution's.
