The university's virtual learning environment is Instructure Canvas on the institution CNAME canvas.liverpool.ac.uk, authenticating through Liverpool's own AD FS. Verified 2026-09-01: the root URL 302s into https://fs.liverpool.ac.uk/adfs/ls/ with a signed SAMLRequest; https://canvas.liverpool.ac.uk/api/lti/security/jwks returns 200 application/json with a live LTI 1.3 platform RSA key set; https://canvas.liverpool.ac.uk/api/v1/accounts returns 401, so the data API is closed. The LTI implementation and the Canvas API contract are Instructure's; the tenant, the courses and the identity binding are Liverpool's. No Instructure contract is saved here.
