canvas.harvard.edu CNAMEs to harvard-vanity.instructure.com. The Canvas REST API is live on that hostname and returns a well-formed JSON 401 to an anonymous caller, which makes it the best-behaved error contract answering on a harvard.edu name - and it is entirely Instructure's. Any LTI or Caliper conformance in this stack is the vendor's certification, which is why neither is credited to Harvard in conformance/.
