NED Table Access Protocol (Caltech/IPAC)

The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database, operated by Caltech/IPAC, exposes an IVOA TAP service over its extragalactic object catalog. Verified live 2026-08-19 returning TAP_SCHEMA rows as CSV, and returning a spec-conformant VOTable error document — carrying QUERY_STATUS, ERROR_TYPE, PROVIDER and a correlatable REQ_ID — when the REQUEST parameter is omitted. The strongest error semantics in Caltech's estate.
