Tibber Vocabulary is a controlled vocabulary published by Tibber on the APIs.io network, defining 26 terms.
The terms are organized into 5 groups — operationalDimensions, capabilityDimensions, deviceCategories, priceLevels, and priceAreas.
Defined terms include Subscription, Home, MeteringPoint, Price, and Consumption.
2 terms carry alternate labels, so a consumer can resolve the synonyms Tibber accepts to the canonical term.
A controlled vocabulary pins the words an API’s schemas, parameters and documentation use to one agreed definition each — the shared language a human or an agent needs to read the API the same way its authors do.
Subscription
A customer's active retail electricity subscription with hourly Nord Pool / EPEX spot pricing.
contractplan
Home
A physical address where Tibber meters electricity and links smart devices.
householddwelling
MeteringPoint
The grid metering point (EAN / GSRN) tied to a home for consumption and production accounting.
Price
Hourly retail price comprising energy, tax, and grid components, classified by relative `level`.
Consumption
Energy consumed in a time bucket (HOURLY, DAILY, WEEKLY, MONTHLY, ANNUAL).
Production
Energy exported to grid in a time bucket, typically from rooftop solar.
LiveMeasurement
Sub-second power, voltage, current, and signal readings from Tibber Pulse over the GraphQL websocket subscription.
MeterReading
Manual or scheduled cumulative meter reading submitted via `sendMeterReading` mutation.
Device
A third-party IoT device (vehicle, charger, thermostat, inverter, energy system) linked through the Tibber mobile app.
DeviceHistory
Paginated time series of device metrics, immutable after creation, served at quarterHour/hour/day/month resolution.
SmartCharging
Tibber's app-driven EV charging optimisation that shifts load to cheap and clean grid hours.
HeatPumpOptimization
Schedule-shifting and load-balancing logic for air-to-air, air-to-water, and ground-source heat pumps.
SolarSelfConsumption
Production analytics and battery dispatch advice for rooftop PV households.
GridBalancing
Aggregated demand-response participation, including Sweden FCR-N participation Tibber surfaces to customers.
PushNotification
Outbound notifications to the Tibber mobile app via the `sendPushNotification` mutation.
vehicle
Connected electric vehicle linked via OEM cloud (Tesla, Ford, Polestar, BMW, etc.).
charger
Electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).
thermostat
Thermostats, heat pumps, and space heaters (e.g., Mill, Nibe, Daikin).
inverter
Solar PV inverters (Huawei, SolarEdge, Fronius).
energySystem
Home batteries and hybrid solar+storage systems.
