Sync Labs Vocabulary
Domain vocabulary for the Sync Labs AI lip-sync and visual dubbing platform, covering video generation, AI models, content localization, and media processing concepts.
13 Terms
Updated 2026-05-03
Sync Labs Vocabulary is a controlled vocabulary published by Sync Labs on the APIs.io network, defining 13 terms.
Defined terms include Lip Sync, Visual Dubbing, Generation, Batch, and Model.
A controlled vocabulary pins the words an API’s schemas, parameters and documentation use to one agreed definition each — the shared language a human or an agent needs to read the API the same way its authors do.
Terms
Lip Sync
The synchronization of lip movements in a video with an audio track. AI lip sync analyzes the audio phonemes and adjusts the facial movements in the video to match the new speech.
Visual Dubbing
The process of replacing the original audio of a video with translated or modified audio while also adjusting the speaker's lip movements to match the new audio. Produces natural-looking dubbed content.
Generation
A single asynchronous job that processes a video and audio input pair through the Sync Labs AI model to produce a lip-synced output video. Generations are identified by a unique ID and have a status lifecycle.
Batch
A collection of multiple generation jobs submitted together for processing. Batch processing enables large-scale content localization at reduced cost and management overhead. Supports up to 500 generations per batch on Scale+ plans.
Model
An AI neural network trained to perform lip-sync operations. Sync Labs offers multiple models with different quality/speed/cost tradeoffs: sync-3 (most powerful), lipsync-2-pro (premium), lipsync-2 (general), lipsync-1.9 (fastest), react-1 (expressive emotions).
Synergize
A Sync Labs API feature that enables multi-speaker detection and selection in videos with multiple faces, applying lip-sync to the correct speaker based on audio analysis.
Asset
A video or audio file uploaded to the Sync Labs platform for reuse across multiple generations. Assets avoid re-uploading the same source files and enable faster generation workflows.
Webhook
An HTTP callback that Sync Labs sends to a specified URL when a generation or batch job completes. Enables event-driven workflows without polling the API for status.
Content Localization
The process of adapting video content for different language markets. Using Sync Labs, translated audio tracks are combined with lip-sync to create natural-looking dubbed versions for global audiences.
Face Resolution
The pixel dimensions of the face region in the generated video. Higher face resolution (up to 4K native in sync-3) produces more detailed lip movements but at higher cost per second.
Lifetime Value Forecasting
Not applicable to Sync Labs (see Sync API vocabulary). Sync Labs focuses on AI video generation, not advertising analytics.
Rate Limit
API usage constraint of 60 requests per minute on the POST /v2/generate endpoint. Batch submissions count as a single request regardless of the number of generations included.
Dubbing Pipeline
An automated workflow for producing dubbed video content at scale, typically involving: translation (TTS or human), audio production, batch submission to Sync Labs, webhook completion handling, and delivery to CDN or content platform.
