Chainstack Vocabulary is a controlled vocabulary published by Chainstack on the APIs.io network, defining 15 terms.

Defined terms include Request Unit, Global Node, Dedicated Node, Unlimited Node, and Trader Node.

A controlled vocabulary pins the words an API’s schemas, parameters and documentation use to one agreed definition each — the shared language a human or an agent needs to read the API the same way its authors do.

Terms

Request Unit
The atomic billing unit on Chainstack. 1 RU equals 1 full-node JSON-RPC request; 2 RU equals 1 archive-node JSON-RPC request. RPC method type does not affect the cost.
Global Node
Geo-balanced managed RPC node that automatically routes a client request to the lowest-latency Chainstack region.
Dedicated Node
Isolated single-tenant managed node with extended namespaces (debug, txpool, trace) and GraphQL support. Higher SLA, hourly compute charge.
Unlimited Node
Flat-fee tier-based RPS commitment node; no per-request charges within the RPS allocation.
Trader Node
Low-latency mempool-optimized node integrated with bloXroute BDN; designed for MEV, arbitrage, and high-frequency trading workloads.
Yellowstone gRPC
Real-time Solana streaming via the Yellowstone Geyser plugin. Streams accounts, transactions, and slots over gRPC with lower latency than RPC polling.
Warp Transaction
Premium transaction-broadcast service charged per transaction; ships transactions through optimized propagation paths.
MEV Protection
Add-on that routes transactions through sandwich-/frontrun-resistant builders.
Flashblocks
Preconfirmation support on rollup networks (Base 200 ms, Optimism 250 ms) for ultra-low-latency transaction visibility.
Faucet
Chainstack-operated public testnet faucet across Hoodi, Sepolia, BNB Testnet, zkSync Testnet, Scroll Sepolia, and Polygon Amoy.
Compute Unit
Hourly metered compute charge applied to Pro-tier and above Dedicated Nodes (from $0.50 per hour).
Project
Chainstack organizational grouping for related networks and nodes.
Network
Chainstack abstraction over a protocol + chain (e.g. ethereum-mainnet, polygon-amoy). Groups project nodes.
Marketplace
One-click installable apps with unified Chainstack billing.
MCP Server (Chainstack)
Chainstack-hosted MCP server providing agent access to agents page, node deployment, doc search, and faucet operations.
