SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC)

STAC is a specification for describing geospatial assets — satellite imagery, aerial photography, derived data products — so they can be discovered and used without bespoke integration per provider. It defines a JSON item format and a companion API, and it is the standard that made earth-observation archives searchable across organisations rather than only within them.

Also known as SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog, STAC API.

Providers that carry STAC 12

These providers' own APIs.json profiles carry STAC as a tag — the provider's statement that the standard is part of what it does. APIs.io has not verified the implementation on this page; the de facto profiles on this site are where that measurement exists. Ordered by Kin Score.

Read from the API Evangelist standards directory. Provider links come from the catalog's own identity tags and are rebuilt nightly. If this page is wrong about a standard or a provider, say so.
