OGC WMS (Web Map Service)

WMS is the Open Geospatial Consortium standard for requesting map images over HTTP. A client asks a server for a rendered map of a named layer, in a named coordinate system, for a given bounding box, and the server returns an image. Version 1.3.0 is also published as ISO 19128, and its GetCapabilities document is a self-describing machine-readable catalog of everything the service offers.

Providers that carry OGC WMS 16

These providers' own APIs.json profiles carry OGC WMS as a tag — the provider's statement that the standard is part of what it does. APIs.io has not verified the implementation on this page; the de facto profiles on this site are where that measurement exists. Ordered by Kin Score.

Read from the API Evangelist standards directory, facts verified 2026-08-17. Provider links come from the catalog's own identity tags and are rebuilt nightly. If this page is wrong about a standard or a provider, say so.
