Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI, ISO/IEC 17826)
SNIA’s RESTful HTTP interface for cloud storage, standardized as ISO/IEC 17826 — data objects, container objects and queue objects, with metadata-driven management (retention, placement, lifecycle) and a capabilities object a client reads to learn what the server supports before using it. CDMI 1.0 shipped in 2010; CDMI 2.0 is current and 3.0 is in development. Used in scientific, government and enterprise storage more than in the commercial clouds, which went their own way.
Also known as Cloud Data Management Interface, ISO/IEC 17826, SNIA CDMI.
