Packagecloud Rate Limits
Rate limiting information for the packagecloud REST API. The API does not publish explicit rate limit thresholds in its public documentation. Limits are enforced at the infrastructure level. The API uses standard HTTP response codes (401 for auth failures, 422 for malformed requests) and RFC-5988 pagination headers to manage response size. Bandwidth and storage consumption tracked at plan level with usage alerts at 50%, 90%, and 99% of limits.
Packagecloud Rate Limits is the machine-readable rate-limit profile for packagecloud on the APIs.io network, conforming to the API Commons Rate Limits specification.
It captures 4 rate-limit definitions.

Limits
API Pagination Default request
30
Pagination is communicated via HTTP Link headers (RFC-5988), Total, Per-Page, and Max-Per-Page response headers.
Bandwidth Usage Alerts account
Conditional GETs, HEAD requests, and cancelled requests do not count toward bandwidth. Bandwidth usage updates every 5 minutes.
Storage Usage Alerts account
Storage watermarks represent peak usage during a billing cycle, not the final stored amount at cycle end.
Overage Cap account
Overage caps can be configured in account billing settings. Exceeding the cap triggers account suspension rather than continued billing.
