Numbers Online Rate Limits
Rate limits are account-pooled and business-scaled: the pooled budgets (lookups, inbound caller-intelligence, the outbound pre-call check, community reports) are shared across every key on an account and recomputed from live state, so minting extra keys never raises them; verifying a business number raises them per number, personal ($9) verification does not. All other endpoints use a per-key 60 requests/minute window. On exhaustion the API returns 429 with a Retry-After header (seconds), mirrored as retry_after_seconds in the flat JSON error body, with code rate_limited_key, rate_limited_pool or rate_limited_ip. No X-RateLimit-* or IETF RateLimit-* headers are documented. The provider states limits are indicative fair-use defaults, not a service-level guarantee.
Numbers Online Rate Limits is the machine-readable rate-limit profile for Numbers Online on the APIs.io network, in the API Commons Rate Limits shape.
It captures 11 rate-limit definitions, across the free and business-verified tiers, measuring requests_per_minute, lookups_per_minute, lookups_per_day, reports_per_day, and numbers_per_minute.
Limit state is signalled in the retryAfter, bodyField, rateLimitRemaining, and rateLimitLimit response headers, and an exhausted limit returns HTTP 429.
The profile also includes response codes documented for throttled.
Tagged areas include Phone Intelligence, Caller ID, CNAM, Reverse Phone Lookup, and Spam Detection.
