Apilayer Rate Limits is the machine-readable rate-limit profile for APILayer on the APIs.io network, conforming to the API Commons Rate Limits specification.
It captures 8 rate-limit definitions, across the Free, Basic (ExchangeRate.host / Exchange Rates API), Professional / Professional Plus, Business, and Standard (ipapi) tiers, measuring requests and lookups.
The profile also includes 3 backoff/retry policies defined and response codes documented for throttled, quotaExceeded, serviceUnavailable, and caveat.

Policies
Overage, not cut-off
Paid tiers meter past the quota at a published per-request price rather than hard-stopping, so exceeding the plan costs money instead of returning 429.
Backoff
No Retry-After is sent, so a client must choose its own backoff. Distinguish rate_limit_reached (retry shortly) from usage_limit_reached (do not retry this month).
Scope
Limits attach to the per-product access key, not to the APILayer account. Each subscribed product carries its own independent quota.
