The core components - the API Reference renderer, the API Client, the CLI, the OpenAPI parser, and the Galaxy example API - are open source under the MIT license and free to self-host with no vendor fee. The hosted platform (dashboard.scalar.com) is offered as a Free tier, a paid Pro tier at 72 USD per month, and a custom Enterprise tier. SDK generation is a paid per-language add-on (about 100 USD per language). The AI Agent / hosted MCP is metered in Agent Scalar credits (50 included on Free, 500 on Pro).
