Free MAP_KEY

Free API key issued after registering through the FIRMS download portal. Required for all area-based fire detection queries, data availability checks, and missing data lookups. Grants access to all satellite sources including MODIS NRT/SP, VIIRS S-NPP/NOAA-20/NOAA-21 NRT/SP, and LANDSAT NRT.

No Key (KML Footprints Only)

The KML fire footprints endpoint is publicly accessible without a MAP_KEY for predefined global regions and standard time spans. Suitable for embedding or quick visualization without registration.
