Miso Plans

MISO charges nothing for API access. There is no paid tier, no metered billing and no commercial agreement anywhere in its public data programme. What MISO has instead is three access postures: fully anonymous (the Public API and the market report archive), free but keyed and self-serve (the two MISO Data Exchange products), and closed registration (MUI 2.0, gated on a client digital certificate issued to a registered market participant). The two Data Exchange products below are real Azure API Management products read from MISO's own anonymously served portal product metadata on 2026-07-27; both return approvalRequired false, which is what makes them genuinely self-serve.

Miso Plans is the machine-readable pricing-plan profile for MISO on the APIs.io network, conforming to the API Commons Plans specification.

It defines 5 plans, covering free and restricted tiers, with named plans including Public API, Market Reports archive, Pricing API, Load, Generation, and Interchange API, MUI 2.0 (market participants).

Tagged areas include Plans, Open Data, and Energy.
