Gridstatus Plans Pricing

Grid Status has two consumption models. The open-source gridstatus Python library (BSD-3-Clause) pulls raw data directly from ISO/RTO sources for free - no Grid Status account required. The hosted Grid Status API is metered on rows returned per month with a free tier (documented at 500,000 rows per month in the gridstatusio client README) and paid plans; the API product page markets flexible pricing where you pay for just the ISOs/RTOs you need, or everything. Some endpoints, such as the daily peak reports, require a paid plan. The public pricing page (gridstatus.io/pricing) is a JavaScript application whose tier names and dollar amounts could not be captured at review time, so exact paid rates are not reconciled here.

Gridstatus Plans Pricing is the machine-readable pricing-plan profile for Grid Status on the APIs.io network, conforming to the API Commons Plans specification.

It defines 4 plans, covering free, usage, and enterprise tiers, with named plans including Open Source Library (gridstatus), Hosted API - Free, Hosted API - Paid Plans, Enterprise / Custom.

Tagged areas include Day-Ahead Prices, Electricity, Grid Data, Energy Markets, and Plans.

Open Source Library (gridstatus) free

The gridstatus Python library is BSD-3-Clause licensed and free. It provides a consistent interface for pulling minimally-processed electricity supply, demand, and pricing data directly from CAISO, ERCOT, ISONE, MISO, NYISO, PJM, SPP, IESO, AESO, and EIA sources - no Grid Status API key required.

Library Usage (requests · month) free (data pulled directly from ISO/RTO sources) USD
Hosted API - Free free

Free tier of the hosted Grid Status API. Documented in the gridstatusio client README as limited to 500,000 rows returned per month - easy to exceed when querying real-time price datasets, so add a limit to every query.

Rows Returned (rows · month) $0 up to 500,000 rows per month USD
Hosted API - Paid Plans usage

Paid plans raise the monthly rows-returned allowance and rate limits and unlock paid-only endpoints such as daily peak reports. The API product page markets flexible pricing - pay for just the ISOs/RTOs you need, or everything. Exact tier names and dollar amounts are published on the pricing page and are not reconciled here.

Rows Returned (rows · month) per plan (see pricing page) USD
Enterprise / Custom enterprise

Custom arrangements for high-volume consumers, including access to data in Snowflake and negotiated terms. Contact Grid Status at contact@gridstatus.io.
