Ghost has two consumption models. The core Ghost publishing platform is open source (MIT) and free to self-host with no license fee - you provide your own infrastructure. Ghost(Pro) is the official managed hosting service; all Ghost(Pro) revenue funds the non-profit Ghost Foundation that maintains the software. Ghost(Pro) is priced in tiers primarily by staff-user count and member (audience) limits. Both the Content API and Admin API are included on every Ghost site at no additional API charge - self-hosted or Ghost(Pro). Prices below reflect published Ghost(Pro) rates as of the review date (annual billing gives roughly 20% off the monthly rate); verify current numbers on the pricing page during reconciliation.
