Checkr prices background checks primarily on a per-check basis by package tier, not on a per-API-call basis. The API itself is free to use with a Checkr account; you pay for each report / screening you order. Published self-serve package tiers are Basic+ (~$29.99/check: SSN trace, national criminal search, sex offender registry), Essential (~$54.99/check: adds a 7-year county criminal search and motor vehicle records), and Professional (~$79.99/check: adds federal criminal search plus education and employment verification). Higher-volume and specialized needs (staffing, healthcare, gig/marketplace, international) are handled through custom/enterprise agreements with volume pricing and account management. Certain screenings incur pass-through third-party fees (county/state court access, DMV/MVR access, verification fees) that Checkr invoices at cost without markup.
