description: Record the runtime semantics that are shared across every Snowflake REST contract but stated in none of them.
  update:
    x-runtime-semantics:
      error-envelope: application/json { message, code, error_code (deprecated), request_id } — not RFC 9457
request-id-header: X-Snowflake-Request-ID (uuid) on every response
pagination: showLimit / fromName query parameters plus an RFC 8288 Link header; the body is a bare array with no paging envelope
idempotency: declarative via createMode (errorIfExists|ifNotExists|orReplace) and ifExists — there is no Idempotency-Key header
auth-type-header: X-Snowflake-Authorization-Token-Type must accompany Authorization and name the credential kind
rate-limit-signalling: 429 with no Retry-After and no RateLimit-* headers; client-side jittered backoff from ~2s
dry-run: not supported anywhere in the Snowflake REST API
- target: $.info
description: Flag the deprecated operations in this document; the contract marks them deprecated but publishes no sunset date and no replacement
    pointer.
  update:
    x-deprecated-operations:
    - operationId: createDatabaseFromShareDeprecated
      path: /api/v2/databases/{name}:from_share
      method: post
      sunset: null
note: 'deprecated: true in the contract; no Sunset/Deprecation header is emitted at runtime and no sunset date is published.'
- target: $.info
description: 'Record the rate-limit gap: 429 is declared but no machine-readable retry signal accompanies it.'
  update:
x-rate-limit-gap: This document declares 429 responses but attaches no Retry-After and no RateLimit-* headers, so a client has no server-supplied
      backoff hint. See ../rate-limits/snowflake-rate-limits.yml.
