x-note: 'Captures API Evangelist''s recommended enhancements to Everbridge''s published contract. It is applied
  to a COPY; the harvested document in openapi/ is never mutated. Actions marked x-status: recommendation describe
  capability Everbridge does not ship today.'
actions:
- target: $.info
  description: Add a machine-readable support contact. The published contract names no contact, so a consumer that
    hits a defect has no address inside the artifact.
  update:
    contact:
      name: Everbridge Developer Hub
      url: https://developers.everbridge.net/home/discuss
- target: $.info
  description: Declare the contract's licence. Everbridge publishes these documents on a public developer hub under
    its standard terms; stating it removes the ambiguity for downstream tooling.
  update:
    termsOfService: https://www.everbridge.com/company-policies/
- target: $
  description: Point the contract at the guides that carry the runtime semantics it does not encode — authentication
    grants, throttling tiers and the error table.
  update:
    externalDocs:
      description: Everbridge API Developer Hub — Getting Started Guide
      url: https://developers.everbridge.net/home/docs/ebs-gs-guide
- target: $.paths.*.*
  description: 12 of 12 operations declare no operationId. Every downstream artifact — SDK method names, MCP tool
    names, Arazzo step references, this repo's crosswalk — needs a stable id.

  - PUT /checks/{id}
  - DELETE /checks/{id}

  - GET /checktemplates/{id}
  - PUT /checktemplates/{id}
  - DELETE /checktemplates/{id}
  - GET /checktemplates/source/{sourceId}
- target: $.paths.*.*.responses
  description: Everbridge documents Bronze/Silver/Gold throttling and returns 429 on exhaustion, but this contract
    declares no 429 response, so a generated client has no branch for it. Declare 429 on every operation.
  x-source: https://developers.everbridge.net/home/docs/ebs-gs-guide-throttling-limits
- target: $.paths.*.*.responses.429.headers
  description: Everbridge publishes no rate-limit response headers. Adding RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining,
    RateLimit-Reset and Retry-After would give an agent a runtime budget signal instead of forcing it to infer one
    from a bare 429.
  x-status: recommendation — Everbridge does not currently emit these
- target: $.paths.*.post.parameters
  description: No idempotency mechanism exists anywhere in the Everbridge surface. Launch Mass Notification and
    Launch Incident have irreversible real-world side effects; an Idempotency-Key request header would let a client
    retry a timed-out launch safely.
  x-status: recommendation — Everbridge does not currently support this
