Overview

All NCBI public APIs are provided free of charge as a public service of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and National Institutes of Health (NIH), funded by the US federal government. There are no subscription fees, usage fees, or data egress charges. API keys are also free. The only financial consideration for high-volume users is the cost of their own infrastructure for processing and storing retrieved data.
