UPF's institutional single sign-on, registered in eduGAIN through RedIRIS SIR, the Spanish national research and education federation. entityID https://www.rediris.es/sir/upfidp, role IDPSSODescriptor, registration authority http://www.rediris.es/, registrationInstant 2018-05-24, shibmd:Scope upf.edu, mdui:DomainHint upf.edu, assurance certification https://refeds.org/sirtfi and entity category http://refeds.org/category/research-and-scholarship. Probed 2026-09-01: the entityID returns HTTP 200 text/xml, 10,878 bytes of SAML 2.0 metadata; SSOService and SingleLogoutService resolve to https://sir.rediris.es/upf/saml2/idp/. A federation is shared by definition and the SSO endpoints run on RedIRIS infrastructure under a UPF-specific /upf/ path, but the entity, the scope and the user population are UPF's — recorded as federation, never deleted as a shared host.
