TAU SAML Identity in the IUCC Identity Federation

Tel Aviv University federates through the IUCC Identity Federation (IUCCIF), the Israeli national federation operated by the Inter-University Computation Center, an eduGAIN member since 2014-07-07 and in production since 2014-11-25. Checked against the eduGAIN entity database on 2026-08-30: TAU publishes NO eduGAIN-registered identity provider of its own. Its identity appears instead as a shibMD:Scope value — tau.ac.il — on IUCC's proxy identity provider, entityID https://iif-ng.iucc.ac.il/sp/saml2/idp/metadata.php (SIRTFI asserted, first seen 2019-06-02), alongside biu.ac.il, haifa.ac.il, huji.ac.il, technion.ac.il and weizmann.ac.il. The SAML 2.0 metadata document is live, public and machine-readable, and the operator is IUCC, not TAU. idp.tau.ac.il resolves to a campus address but refuses connections on both 80 and 443 from the public internet.
