Che168 prices come from its export portal as an offer in USD with the exporter's margin: `exportOffer` holds these original figures (price, export fee, port fee), and `price.cny` is derived from them with a factor calibrated daily on cars listed on both marketplaces. Many cars are listed on both marketplaces. The catalog shows each car once: a Che168 listing that matches a Dongchedi listing (same first registration, make, city, mileage and price) is hidden by default and both records name each other in `alsoListedOn`. Add `duplicates=include` to see both.\n\n## Authentication\nSend your key in the `x-api-key` header with every request. Keys are delivered by email after checkout at https://chinacarapi.com. Keep the key on your server. Never put it in browser code.\n\n## Language\nResponses are in English by default. Makes and models use their official English names, trims and inspection findings are machine-translated, and the original Chinese stays in the `nameZh` and `textZh` fields. Sentences that cannot be translated completely return `null` instead of a guess. Add `lang=zh` to any call for the original Chinese values. Add `lang=ru` for Russian values: fuel, transmission, drivetrain, colours, seller type, condition, vehicle class, city names (in the usual Russian spelling) and equipment names come in Russian; make, model and trim names stay Latin and inspection reports stay English. Filters accept the Russian fuel and city names too (`fuel=бензин`, `city=Шанхай`).\n\n## Export rule\nSince 1 January 2026 China exports a car registered less than 180 days ago as used only with a manufacturer confirmation. `export.over180Days` and the `export_ready` filter show which cars are past that point (first registration has month precision and is counted conservatively).\n\n## Keeping a local copy\n1. Download `/api/catalog/export` once and load it into your database.\n2. Call `/api/catalog/changes` with `since` set to the time of that download.\n3. Store `nextCursor` and poll again every few minutes with `cursor`.\n4. For `new` and `price` events load the record with `/api/vehicle/{id}` or `/api/vehicle/bulk`; hide cars on `removed`.\n\n## Caching\nCache `/api/enums` and `/api/models` for 24 hours, listings for a few hours and vehicle records for 24 hours. Serve your visitors from your own database rather than calling live on every click.\n\n## Errors and limits\n`401` no API key sent. `403` key invalid or inactive, or the endpoint is not part of your plan (the response says which). `404` unknown vehicle. `429` more than 600 requests per minute; slow down and cache.\n\n## Plans\nStarter includes search, vehicle records and inspection reports. Business and Scale add the change feed, the CSV export and bulk lookups.
