Institution-operated Shibboleth SAML 2.0 identity provider, published as machine-readable metadata both directly on the university's own host and in the IDEM GARR AAI federation aggregate. Verified live 2026-09-01 — https://shib.unibo.it/idp/shibboleth returns 200 application/xml (7,625 bytes) with EntityDescriptor entityID="https://shib.unibo.it/idp/shibboleth", an IDPSSODescriptor with protocolSupportEnumeration urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:protocol, shibmd:Scope regexp="false" unibo.it, mdui:DisplayName "IDP for the users of the University of Bologna", and SingleSignOnService bindings for HTTP-POST, HTTP-POST-SimpleSign and HTTP-Redirect. The host is the institution's own frontend (frontend-http-01.unibo.it, 137.204.24.86). The same entityID is present in the IDEM GARR federation aggregate https://md.idem.garr.it/metadata/idem-metadata-sha256.xml (200, 3,054,701 bytes, 317 entities, fetched 2026-09-01), alongside two further UNIBO entities registered as service providers: http://idp.unibo.it/adfs/services/trust ("UNIBO Service gateway", an ADFS SP fronted by Azure Traffic Manager) and https://book.unibo.it/edx ("BOOK Unibo Open Knowledge"). A federation is shared by definition and the IdP behind it is the institution's own, so this is recorded as the university's relationship, not as anyone's contract. It is the strongest machine-readable institution-operated surface in this repository and it was absent from the June 2026 profile.
